John Wipfler has professionally spent the last 20+ years as the CEO of provider health care organizations. He has been the Chief Executive Officer of both Eyecare Medical Group and then Orthopaedic Associates, large physician and ambulatory surgery center medical groups. He most recently worked as the Chief Operating Officer of Spectrum Medical Group a large multi-specialty health care organization with 500+ employees providing care across 60+ sites of service. Prior to that his work has included being General Counsel and then Executive Director of Maine’s hospital regulatory. He practiced health care law at Pierce Atwood and was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Maine on health care matters.

He has volunteered extensively on non-profit Boards including time as the Chair of the Board of the Institute for Civic Leadership in Maine and Chair of the Board at Onpoint Health Data. He has been appointed by various Maine Governors for Commissions and Task Forces. John enjoys working with executives and spends a couple weeks a year as faculty on executive leadership development programs. His belief is that one of the most essential tasks of any leader is to be focused on building a healthy organizational culture which is proven to drive better bottom lines and more engaged employees. He is currently consulting and getting a manufacturing start-up company off the ground. John has a JD and MBA from Boston College.
